Apple Remote Redesign?

Yesterday APPLE introduced new Macbook and Macbook Pro notebooks.
They also introduced a 24 inch display that is an external monitor that can be combined with either Macbook, Macbook Pro, or Macbook Air.
I was working with my Macbook when it hit me. They have redesigned the whole mac lineup everything but the Apple Remote and Apple TV.
Which makes me wonder, "What will they do to redesign the Apple Remote along with the Apple TV?" There has been talk that the Apple TV would include a Blu-Ray player but after Steve Jobs' shutting down the idea for Blu-Ray right now and seeing that the iTunes Store has HD movies and TV shows available to download I highly doubt the next Apple TV will be including Blu-Ray.
Will they phase out the Apple Remote all together to only use iPod Touch and iPhone Remote application to control everything?

To infinite and beyond...

I love that everyone is so conscious of their waste these days. We are a very wasteful country; we waste about 1 million garbage bags a minute and more stores are banning plastic bags everyday. As a country we're realizing that now is the time to change. I've been to stores and recognized the t-shirts that have been manufactured from recycled soda bottles. I love it, and journalists that are now sharing the news and living what they preach. For example Dave who is saving his trash in his basement and documenting everything at http://365daysoftrash.blogspot.com

Recently my brother; Preston Bassett, has been looking into Sustainable Living. Which those of you who don't know about it let me explain: Sustainable living refers to a specific lifestyle that attempts to reduce an individual's or society's use of the Earth's natural resources. Practitioners of sustainable living often attempt to reduce their carbon footprints by altering methods of transportation, energy consumption and diet. They are self sustaining trying to make or make do with solar panels, recycling rain water, etc. Think of it as waking up in a house that didn't need electricity from the power company, instead you have a battery pack in the basement that stores the power from your wind turbine, and solar panels. You get to work by walking, biking, or electric car. At work your building uses practical building resources to have waterless toilets, natural air conditioning, and recycles everything from paper towels to shredded legal documents. Everything you use gets a second life making another product. Circle of life thinking.

I try and do my part by driving very slowly in my Geo Metro which gets 50+ mpg, which isn't as good as the 80mpg scooters driving around but most people don't realize that those scooters are 2-stroke engines which makes more power with a smaller motor but pollute more than a 4 door sedan. So I am driving more eco-friendlier then the scooters on the road.

This is a solar panel prototype out of Japan which is the shape of flower leaf; LOVE IT

Celebrity Status

I haven't updated this in a while. After some adventures I need to focus on getting my celebrity status up and running. I haven't even landed the spot in my own gum commercial, with likes of Chris Brown and those twins in the Double Mint gum commercials; but I have a friend with MY name in Spain, Blaine Bassett; found him thru Facebook. Maybe we could conquer this Celebritiness together as, THE BASSETT TWINS!

Unofficial Stocker?

Well, I have noticed myself being addicted to Facebook; like many out there. Daily Internet check; Gmail, Google Reader, and Facebook. Also I notice I follow some people more than others, best friends and old friends that I haven't seen forever or whatever. I'm not some crazy guy but it made me think a little bit... I pay more attention to some people in particular; it's not that I am a stocker and have to know their every move, that's not the case. But when I see these persons posts or recent activities I get excited and have to see what there up to. This is probably coming out wrong but I'll try and get thru this; it's like therapy you keep going because you know it's good for you. Seems like everything that they touch turns to gold, we have similar tastes and ideas on most things. If you are thinking this is you... Your probably dead wrong, but I'll cut it down. I noticed while browsing thru my phone that I had one persons number; dunno where it came from because I don't remember putting it in my phone. But I sent them a text and agreed with them about a certain topic we were talking on.

Which made me think,
Official Stocker is busted by police,
Unofficial Stocker is the one still at bay....?

I'm no stocker, I take notice to their seal of approval on products and new websites or products, this person is in a relationship and are very happy and I'm not attracted to them that way. But they are almost celebrity status and they have a good taste in their products and posts.

Summer

I have recently been busy;
the starting of summer, unemployed, trip to California, doing whatever I can to stay busy too. But I have been thinking a lot, and been told quite a bit from friends and family; love my friends and family! I have just been in discovery mode; trying to know my bounds and boundaries. Of everything I have recognized, "There is a purpose for everyone and everything!" As long as you love what your doing be it singing or putting together a burger,
"Two all beef patties,
Special sauce,
lettuce,
cheese,
pickles,
onions,
on a sesame seed bun."

In California we went to San Francisco and Fisherman's Wharf where there are lots of street performers from dancing to the living bush; which is a guy behind a bush that jumps out at people to much the enjoyment of by-sanders. There is some true talent there, wish I took photo's but there was this one guy that painted with spray cans. He had stencils, sponges, to make his personal masterpiece of the scenic San Francisco or portrait of Winnie the Pooh in less than 3 minutes. We went to a Giants game where I saw a girl with PINK hair;

it sounds odd even to me but she was attractive even with this crazy hair. I just caught a glimpse of her but she took my total attention and made a small impact,

JUST BE YOURSELF and LOVE IT!

Even if people think you look ugly or it doesn't look right on you.

LOVE IT and FLAUNT IT!

On the drive back from California there was this tree just east of Fallon, Nevada. It was a very plain tree but there was something extraordinary about this tree, I can't say if it was ugly or beautiful but it was definitely different. It was covered on almost every branch with shoes. I saw high heels, boots, sandals, and some clothing up in the tree. I did some shoe shopping (Yes Ladies, I LOVE SHOES!) in California and had some old shoes I was going to leave there in the tree too; a form of littering?...Dunno. But after much whirling of my arms and many flinging of my shoes in the air I finally got them up there. It was funny to see so many shoes and have people stop to see all of them; 'Where's Waldo of shoes.' There's Converse, Airwalk, Reebok, and Nike?

Before my California trip I got a call from Jana my old boss from Sinclair Gas Station in Nephi, she needed some help and wanted me to fill in on a few shifts. I loved the customers at Sinclair and told her I would come after my vacation. I was slightly nervous about working even a few shifts but swallowed my fear and went in on Friday. It was like old times, and the customers were excited to see me too. Being a full-service gas station I would become part of the family kind of because the kids and parents would come in weekly to see me that is where I got updates on everything from Little League to Town Events. When I had downtime I would think about my day, week, or what other event was coming up; sometime lots of thinking time. It's an enjoyable job feeling part of someone's life and a part of the community. I would also talk to every customer, out-of-towners were funny or so serious you pumped their gas and ran. I have met Australians looking for old chevy trucks to send back home, even a Senator from Louisiana who gave me a personal invite to call him up when I came to visit even his business card; Senator James David Cain or as he said it, "All names from the Bible, James, David, and Cain."

I don't know what I will be doing with myself or employment, but whatever I do I'm going to love and have an affair with; spend tons of time with it, be late to dinner because I was talking about it, do whatever I can to please it.

iPhone & Apple TV (iTV)

I loved the MACWORLD KEYNOTE with Steve Jobs. I enjoyed and felt all warm and fuzzy inside when he finally introduced the iPhone & Apple TV (Formerly iTV). But there is one interesting thing, he did some interviews with MSNBC & such. He talked about bringing the price down after a few years (or a few million units are sold). But he didn't say, but you could almost bet that the next Widescreen iPod would have some touch-screen ability & could most likely have Wi-Fi capability. Because I don't know about you but I wouldn't carry my notebook around to friends houses to watch some TV Shows or Movies on their Apple TV. It would be much easier and more accessible to carry your Widescreen iPod around and stream wirelessly with Apple TV, a lot of times you leave your iPod in your car anyway; listening to Podcasts and music on the go.

So my prediction is that the next True Widescreen iPod will be out in June, with touch-screen abilities, Wi-Fi capabilities, and some nice applications as well. So you can edit & organize your contacts & calendar on the go, maybe it could be called iNewton instead?....iPod Newton Edition?

Also, how easy or nice would it be to have a 100GB hard drive on your Widescreen iPod or 16GB flash drive in your iPhone.

One more thing.....
Can you stream content from your Wi-Fi capable iPhone to your Apple TV?

(ADHD or ADD)Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

I have been in the hospital and while here I have had time to watch TV, cruise the internet, and play with anything and everything to keep my mind of being lonely or bored. I have been watching myself doing multiple tasks or jobs. I have been watching TV, while chatting with friends on MSN Messenger, while I was writting an email, while having websites on hold waiting for my attention.
In the news they have talked about attention spans getting shorter, I have thought about it and agreed with it. Right now I am watching CSI:NY while typing on my laptop and I noticed that whenever I watch these type of shows there are two different murder cases in one show. Maybe to just keep the persons attention, and the cut scenes are quick and the camera wavy and unsteady.
I could drag out this point but I think you get the idea, my point being are we causing this ourselves. I used to watch Andy Griffith Show and it took the people in the show about half-an-hour to get their point across. Right now with me watching the TV and typing this blog it is taking me about half-an-hour too. I hope this is all understandable because I believe I have ADHD too, I don't go to the doctor and get pills because I believe it would control me more than help me. There was a study done, if you click on the link of this title it will take you to the website.
But here is the statistic-
“According to [neurologist Dr. Fred] Baughman, 500,000 children [in the USA] were diagnosed with ADHD in 1985 and between 5 and 7 million were today.
So are we causing this? Is it something that is curable? And are we just causing something in technology that will cause everyone to have ADHD?

Winding Road magazine (FREE)

I have found a FREE magazine that is try to make it in a magazine world crowded by the makes of Motor Trend, Car and Driver, and Autoweek magazines. I am a subscriber to Motor Trend and Autoweek and I like Autoweek and look forward to receiving it every week.
This magazine is a few months old and I would like it succeed, so I am doing what will hopefully get some people to recognize the magazine. Here is why it is FREE.
Why is Winding Road free? Is there a catch?
The digital edition of Winding Road is free for several reasons. Primary among these is that it just plain costs substantially less to produce a digital magazine than it does a conventional print magazine. Second, as a free publication we can build up a group of loyal and devoted readers faster than we can if we charge for the magazine. This in turn allows us to attract advertisers who are ever so desirous of tempting our loyal and devoted readers with their products.
Those same advertisers are the reason there isn't a catch. As with print magazines, advertisers are a main source of income. Provided that we do our part in attracting advertisers to Winding Road, the magazine should continue to be free in the long run. That's why we offer you a three-year free subscription, not the ever-popular one- or two-issue "trial offer."

Chevette, My Chevette

I have a Love/Hate relationship with my Chevette, at times I love how it runs, looks, and functions. But sometimes it runs crudy, looks ugly, and doesn't function whatsoever. However it has seen me through little adventures since I was sixteen, so I looked on the internet for other pictures about my Chevette and fellow Chevettian's. Here are pictures of Pimped Chevettes, Four-Wheelin' Chevettes, and Chevettes that are so hot women are all over them. Whatever you think of my car, I love it......at times.

Google Talk

I have downloaded Google Talk recently because I have had trouble with MSN Messenger. It doesn't have picture capabilities, or the links to games and such things from MSN. It is just a basic chat room for your friends, but I expect a lot from Google & Gmail.
I hope the next version of Google Talk has links to Blogger, Google.com and Gmail, has video conferencing, and gaming capablities with your friends. You can join me and download Google Talk, while I have had it I have enjoyed it. And it has ran flawlessly without a pop-up window saying to to send a message to Microsoft. The people over at Google must use Apple Computers because everything they have done has been simple and easy to use. It is hard for people the learn every little detail of Windows, and people have a short attention span. Even right now I am typing on my computer while watching Law & Order.
So I am saying in order for Google to be successful it has to have simple ways to play games with friends, links to your blog, Gmail, and Google's search engine.
